THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORM
I was based in Houston Texas for 25 years. I worked there, made lifelong friends there, and met and married my wife there. Hurricane Harvey has impacted so many of my old friends that I rush-released this song so that I could donate all the proceeds to the American Red Cross for relief efforts.
It's an uplifting rock ballad about recovering lives and relationships after a devastating storm. I added a twangy Telecaster guitar, so although I don't like categorizing music, I guess it's a country-rock song(?!).

RELEASE NOTES:
I first started writing this song in the summer of 2014. I was initially thinking of hurricane Katrina and quickly wrote the first verse.
I dabbled with it a bit over the following years but, to be honest, I was struggling to come up with lyrics for the subsequent verses about rebuilding lives and relationships.
Earlier in 2017, as deep divisions in America became hard to ignore, I picked it up again and wrote about rebuilding bridges, helping people in need and repairing relationships.
My wife patiently listened to all the early incarnations of this song. She encouraged me to write lyrics that gave the listener space to create their own story. So I hope that you enjoy the space I've left, and make your own mind-video and interpretation of what it means to you!
