I've just finished hand-carving a tiny bust of Mick Jagger from a 1-inch thick piece of basswood. It will be used in a future AutoMusBox (which I define as a combination Automaton and Music Box). Its title is "You Got To Moo". It will mechanically play a cover of You've Got To Move, a classic blues song by Mississippi Fred McDowell, except that a Moo box will replace the "move" lyric. Since the Stones covered this in the 60s, Jagger will 'sing' it. Charlie Watts will play a bass drum and cymbal. A push button puppet mechanism will ensure that Keef sways in time with the music before collapsing. I'm currently busy with other automata projects, and writing an article on the Horse and Carrot for Automata Magazine, so this won't be finished until next year.
